Parkersburg, WV - 38 year old Crystal Dawn Smith has been arrested for her alleged role in the death of Brandy Marie Adams, following her interview with Parkersburg police detectives this evening.
A Criminal Complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court by Detective P.M. Edelen alleges that on or about 9-20-12, Smith conspired with Arthur Thornton and Victor Thompson to move the body of Adams from the place of her death, being #57 Meadowbrook Trailer Park, by placing it in the trunk of a vehicle and transporting it to the Seventh Street Car Wash, 1957 7th Street, with the use of illegal drugs contributing to the victim’s death.
Smith was processed and officially charged with felony concealing a deceased human body and felony conspiracy to conceal a deceased human body, and placed in the Wood County Holding Center to await arraignment in Wood County Magistrate Court tonight at 10:00 p.m.
Adams body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston with no obvious cause of death discovered during the examination. Toxicology reports are still pending, but are not expected for several more weeks.
Sgt. Greg Collins said the case is likely to be closed upon receipt of the
toxicology results with no other arrests anticipated at this time, provided there are no new developments in the case.
