On 12-10-12 at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers responded
to PHS to assist the Prevention Resource Officer (PRO) with
a disorderly subject.

School administrators asked PRO D.W. Miller to speak to
Michael John Martin in reference to Martin wanting to sign
out a student that he allegedly had no custodial rights to.
Officer Miller spoke to Martin in the main office about the
situation with Martin allegedly becoming belligerent.

Officer Miller asked Martin to leave school property and
began to escort him out of the building.  Martin allegedly
refused to open the door and leave the office, with Officer
Miller physically beginning to escort him out of the office.
Officer Miller continued to walk with Martin out of the
building, with Martin allegedly turning on Officer Miller as
if to fight.  Officer Miller took Martin to the ground and
attempted to handcuff him.  Martin allegedly struck Officer
Miller several times with his elbows and continued to refuse
to be handcuffed.  Officer Miller was eventually able to get
Martin restrained in handcuffs with other officers arriving
at the school to assist.  Martin was transported to
headquarters for processing without further incident.

Martin was charged with disturbance of schools, obstructing,
disorderly conduct and battery of a police officer.  He was
later arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court where he
posted a $2,600.00 bond and was released.
